Old Hickory Shed & Backyard Storage
With a lean-to roof style, the Single Slope can be placed with its back against a tree line or a property boundary, making the shed a part of your landscape. The high front can include horizontal windows to let in natural light. Single Slope Sheds are ENGINEER CERTIFIED!
The Single Slope Shed comes in handy when you have a storage need but the shed location backs up to a property edge, trees, a fence, or other obstruction that will limit the location of the entrance to the front. Customize this building with more windows on the sides to brighten and open the space a bit more.
12’ wide and over buildings are measured across the eaves due to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Smaller width buildings are measured from the outside corners of the walls. The total length of building includes the porch. The building must include the porch to qualify for the package price. See your local dealer for details.

A single slope shed features a lean-to roof design with one sloped surface instead of a peaked gable or gambrel roof. The roof slopes from a high front wall to a lower back wall, making it ideal for placement against property lines, fences, tree lines, or other obstructions. Unlike traditional sheds that need clearance on all sides, single slope sheds are designed for tight spaces. All Oregon Backyard Buildings single slope sheds are engineer certified.
Single slope shed prices in Oregon typically start around $2,500–$3,500 for smaller sizes like 8×12 or 10×10 and increase with size and customization options. Larger models such as 12×28 or 14×40 cost more depending on features added like windows, electrical packages, or upgraded siding. Oregon Backyard Buildings offers flexible rent-to-own plans to make purchasing easy without a large upfront payment. Contact the team for current pricing.
Yes — that’s exactly what single slope sheds are designed for. The lean-to roof allows placement with the back wall close to fences, tree lines, or boundaries without roof overhang issues. The sloped roof directs water runoff toward the front, away from the property line. Always check local setback rules with your city or county before installation.
The front wall is typically 8–9 feet tall, while the back wall measures about 6–7 feet. This height difference gives the shed its distinctive sloped look and ensures proper water drainage. The taller front wall also provides space for horizontal windows, allowing natural light while maintaining privacy. It’s an ideal design for Oregon’s rain and snow conditions.b b
Single slope sheds are available in sizes from 8×12 feet up to 14×40 feet. Popular sizes include 10×12, 10×16, 12×20, 12×24, and 14×28. These sheds start at 8×12 due to roof design requirements. Models 12 feet wide and larger are measured across the eaves per DOT regulations, while smaller widths are measured wall-to-wall. All sizes are engineer certified for strength.
Absolutely. The tall front wall is perfect for horizontal or transom windows that let in natural light. You can also add side-wall windows for airflow and brightness. Many customers add multiple windows since one wall often faces a boundary. Window placement and style can be fully customized with Oregon Backyard Buildings during the design process.
Permit requirements vary by city and county. Some Oregon areas don’t require permits for sheds under 200 square feet, while larger structures may need one. Because single slope sheds are often placed near property lines, it’s important to confirm local setback and zoning rules. All Oregon Backyard Buildings sheds are engineer certified, helping simplify the permit process.
Single slope sheds need a level, well-drained foundation. Gravel pads, concrete slabs, pressure-treated wood skids, or concrete blocks are all suitable options. Even though the roof slopes, the base must be level front-to-back and side-to-side. Ensure proper drainage so rainwater runs away from the shed’s front and doesn’t collect near the foundation.
Yes — single slope sheds make excellent workshops and storage spaces. The tall front wall provides plenty of headroom for tools and benches, while the lower back is perfect for shelving or smaller items. Many Oregon customers use these sheds for garden equipment, power tools, ATVs, or as functional hobby spaces with optional electrical setups.
Yes — free delivery and setup are included within Oregon Backyard Buildings’ standard Oregon service area. The shed arrives pre-built and is carefully placed on your prepared foundation using specialized delivery equipment. Setup usually takes 2–4 hours, and the crew can navigate tight spaces for precise placement. Extra fees may apply for areas outside the standard delivery zone.

A real keeper for your business. He works at the Eugene outlet for Hickory Sheds on West 11th. Good guy.Posted on Anthony Siminski The shed is in and I have that peaceful easy feeling that my stuff has a new home. This is my 4th shed purchase, literally. The others are on property I own across the Cascades, I noticed small differences in the construction, not better or worse, just different. Tristan did a nice job with delivery, shoeing the shed into a tight spot. The truck and trailer arrangement he has allows for fine adjustments in placement, quite an investment but oh so worth it when it comes to precision. No landscaping damaged, shed right where it needs to be. Oregon Backyard Buildings were pleasant and accommodating in every way, a joy to do business with.Posted on David M Oregon Backyard Buildings has awesome deals on quality sheds!
